Sessions: Each session is centered on a theme and includes in-depth conversations and sometimes role-playing facilitated by an adult member of our community.
Independent Projects: Each boy in the program is expected to complete an independent or group project as a requirement for graduation. The projects could range from essays about a hero, to researching their family tree, community service, etc.
Book Assignment: Students are expected to read assigned pages of the required "Class Book" before each class session. Life lessons from the book are discussed during class sessions and ALL students are expected to participate. This is a final Passage Ceremony prerequisite.
Community Service: One of the program days will be reserved for community service. All students, mentors and program staff will spend the day providing service at a pre-selected local charity. This is a final Passage Ceremony prerequisite.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE STUDENT:
Attend all sessions punctually
Discuss progress with program staff and mentors
Complete any homework or assignments promptly
Show respect to personnel and other participants
Speak courteously during sessions
Maintain proper conduct during sessions
Maintain appropriate dress code, cleanliness and safety habits
Turn off all electronic devices during sessions
Attend closing the Passage Ceremony
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN:
Attend the kickoff / orientation session
Assure regular and punctual attendance of their children
Check and monitor the progress of their children
Provide supportive action to the child’s growth process
Discuss with program staff or child’s assigned mentor any issues of concern
Help child to plan time and space for completing any homework or assignments
Attend the Parents Sessions
Attend the closing Passage Ceremony
PASSAGE CEREMONY RULES:
Participants MUST attend all sessions in order to participate in the final Passage Ceremony.
